Pick toys for your child, those misconceptions that you don't know

2025-06-06 16:39

There is a saying: only buy the right one, not the expensive one.

Most people's psychology is that the more expensive the better.

Although, it is undeniable that toys with a slightly higher price will be slightly better in quality than cheaper toys. But that doesn't mean that all more expensive toys are better.

When we choose toys for our children, we should choose them according to their age and personality characteristics.

Because it is not clear how old your child is at the moment, but I can give you some indicative advice.

A few guidelines to follow when choosing a toy:

1/ Choose the right type of toys according to the age of the child

If you're a younger child, try not to buy beads, paints, crayons, and any other toys that could pose a safety hazard. For example, children who are only 8 months old to 1 year old are the sensitive period of hands and mouths, if parents buy small beads, paints and other toys for their children, the children will easily put them in their mouths, and small beads will be easily swallowed, and paints, crayons and other things will be easy to eat or get eyes, which is very bad for children's health and safety.

2/ The material and safety of the toy must be passed

Many of the toys that children play with are made of plastic. And there are many kinds of plastics. It is not recommended for mothers to buy toys for their children at roadside stalls, not that low-priced toys are bad. Instead, many roadside stall toys are unpackaged, and some don't even have a manufacturer and date. There is no certificate and whether the manufacturer's toys are qualified and whether they can be used by children is a big problem.

Especially for plastic toys, toys that do not have a manufacturer are likely to be made from the reuse of waste plastics. The lead content of such plastics can be seriously exceeded. The health hazards to children are very great.

I have seen many children who are active, do not like to eat, always love to eat fingers or some strange things, all because of excessive lead content, a large part of which is caused by children's long-term exposure to toys with excessive lead content.

3/ Don't buy children uncreative and dull toys.

A lot of kids like toys that glow, or toys that flip a switch to run, sing, and move.

But in fact, as an individual, it is not recommended that parents buy such toys for their children. As long as the battery is installed, these toys can run, glow, and sing, which is actually very detrimental to children's brain development and growth.

Because you don't need to use any brains to play with these toys, it is also very easy for children. You only need to turn on the switch and watch how the toy "sings", "dances", "forwards" and "retreats" on its own, without the child's hands and brains. What do you buy such toys for? Is it just for kids?
